DAN HARRIS TO HOLD TRANSIT TOWN HALL MEETING
Scarborough Southwest Member of Parliament invites residents to have their say on public transit issues
SCARBOROUGH – NDP MP Dan Harris (Scarborough-Southwest) will host a Transit Town Hall tomorrow to discuss public transit in Toronto and the need for a National Transit Strategy.
Joining Harris are special guests Olivia Chow (MP for Trinity-Spadina and Official Opposition Critic for Transportation), Janet Davis (Toronto City Councillor, Ward 31), Cameron MacLeod and Joe Drew (#CodeRedTO, Citizen’s Action Group).
“Canada is falling behind when it comes to public transit,” said Harris. “Municipalities and provinces are trying to keep up with growing urban populations while scrambling for funds to maintain the aging infrastructure we already have. We see these issues every day here in Toronto, and it’s time to act to close the funding gap.”
